I knew Biden was still limping along, but I had forgotten about Chris Dodd. Is he still in the race? The only saving grace for these guys is the compressed primary season - Hillary's coronation will be over so quickly that their embarrassment will be relatively short lived.

As a former reporter, I often imagined how delightful it must have been in the good old days before press secretaries and handlers scripted politicians' every word. Those were the times when you could get such candid (and honest) lines as "Just watch me" from Pierre Trudeau, when asked how far he was prepared to go in handling the FLQ crisis. This spontaneous remark would likely never happen today. Press secretaries like Campbell who spend their days manufacturing messages should be careful not to express contempt for the reporters who have no choice but to be on the receiving end of such messages. In reality, people who hate the media are expressing contempt for the public, since in essence, that's all the media represent -- the eyes and ears of the public. I suspect from what I've read about Campbell this was very much the case.

JAK I am in full agreement with your commentary. Facebook is a great communication tool, but people need to be conscious not only of who is on their friends list, but also their privacy settings, so that other individuals ( such as those in their networks) are not inadvertently viewing their profiles or privy to their activities.

As with any new toy or tool, it's important to be an informed user.

Sounds like an excellent plan, and one that would almost guarantee a public forgiveness of sorts, except for one flaw. Lindsay Lohan isn't and never was the type of person to feel remorse of any kind. And embarrassement??? Pfffft. Apparently, she was brought up never having heard the word "no," and thus, feeling somehow very privileged from birth. Sad, when you think of what her career could have become. Poor career management? Absolutely. Who's her manager? Her Mom. PS: I wish you well in La La Land. I'm staying in New England, thank you very much!
